My Approach

In my sessions, I take a child-led approach to therapy and prioritize establishing meaningful connections with my clients so they feel safe, comfortable, and motivated to learn. I meet children where they are at and honor their current communication abilities to support them as we develop new skills. For young children, this should look like play! Children should be *excited* for speech therapy! For older children, I incorporate their interests in our therapy sessions and target skills in natural contexts whenever possible.
Regardless of a child's age or current communication abilities, one of my primary goals is always to help them develop confidence in their communication so they can effectively advocate for themselves and their needs. I believe in a team approach and aim to empower caregivers to be an active part of their child’s therapy team.

Real Concerns. Real Support.
Real Progress.
If you’re here, it may be because something about your child’s communication has you wondering—or worrying. If any of the questions or concerns below sound familiar, it might be time to reach out. I'm here to listen, to support, and to help you and your child move forward.
Late Talkers
-
“Shouldn’t my child be saying more by now?”
-
“Is it okay that my child is two and only says a few words?"
-
“Will they just catch up on their own, or do they need help?”

If your child isn’t saying as many words as expected or is struggling to combine words into short phrases, speech therapy can give them the support they need to make progress and meet developmental milestones.

Children with Autism
-
“My child doesn’t speak—how can they tell me what they need?"
-
“Why doesn't my child seem interested in playing with other children?”
-
“Why does my child repeat phrases but not use their own words?”
-
"My child can't tell me if they're sick or in pain. How do I know if they need help?"

If your child is pre-verbal, minimally verbal, or finding it hard to tell you what they want or need, therapy can help them discover ways to communicate that feel natural, safe, and empowering—whether that’s with words, gestures, signs, a device, or a Total Communication approach.

Children with Speech Sound Difficulties
-
“Why can I understand my child, but no one else can?"
-
“Should I be worried that my child is still having trouble with certain sounds?”
-
"My child's development seems different than my other children. Is this normal?"

When a child has difficulty saying certain sounds or speaking clearly, it can affect how well others understand them- and their confidence in speaking. Therapy can help improve these skills so children grow into successful, competent communicators!

Children with Language Delays
-
“My child doesn’t follow directions—is it a behavior problem, or does he not understand?”
-
“Why does my child have trouble answering simple questions?”
-
“My child can't tell me what happened at school. How do I know if things are going okay?”

Children with language delays may struggle with understanding or using language in everyday situations. Speech therapy can help build comprehension and expression skills that support self-advocacy and improve participation in their daily routines.
Children with Social Communication Difficulties
-
“My child talks, but doesn’t seem to know how to have a conversation—what’s going on?”
-
“My child doesn't have many friends. I'm worried about them feeling isolated."
-
“How can I help my child make and keep friends?”

If your child finds conversation, turn-taking, or social interaction tricky, they may need extra support with social communication. I never force eye contact—instead, we focus on helping your child feel confident and connected in ways that honor their neurodiversity.

Children who Stutter
-
“My child gets stuck on words—should I be worried?”
-
“Is it normal for young kids to repeat sounds or words?”
-
“Will my child outgrow their stutter?”

Stuttering can sometimes be a normal developmental process for young children—but when it sticks around, is particularly severe, or starts impacting your child emotionally, therapy can make a big difference in helping them communicate more smoothly and with self-assurance.
Every child is unique, and there’s no one-size-fits-all approach or timeline. Whether your child is just beginning to speak, navigating challenges in school, or working to build social confidence, your concerns are valid. It’s never too early—or too late—to seek support.
If any of these questions felt familiar, we invite you to reach out. Let’s talk about what’s going on and how we can help your child move forward with confidence.
